MINDSET CONDITIONING

80% of Americans Felt this Way, Do You?

In 2019, a survey was done that found that 80% of Americans were dissatisfied with their job. Now consider that the average American will spend about 90,000 at work during their lifetime and to me that seems like a very long time to be unhappy! What about you?

Now since 2019 the workforce has definitely changed and many of those people were either forced or came to the realization that a change was needed. Bob Proctor, who I consider a great mentor, used to say that working is the worst way to make money. At first, I didn’t understand what he meant but the more I discovered my calling and followed my passion, it made sense. You can see when people are at work for only a paycheck rather than because they enjoy what they do and consider themselves part of something bigger along with making a difference. When we go to work, we should go because we enjoy it and of course getting paid is great too! When we look at all the wealthy people, their money comes from multiple sources on a continuous basis.

This is something that I have taken to heart, and I can say that I’m walking the talk. I am doing what I love and even though I am working longer hours than ever in my life, it seems like I’m working the least. The money will continue to come and increase as long I provide quality service and greater value to my clients than what they pay me. I truly believe this and follow it.

What about you? Are you still part of the 80% dissatisfied with what you do? What are some of the reasons you’re telling yourself why you can’t make a change? Is it your age, education, gender, or location? It is never too late to go after what makes you feel like you’re following what you were put on this earth to do. So today, what can be a first step that you can take to start on that journey? And if you already love what you do and have money coming in through multiple sources, what can you do differently to expand on what you already do?

Am I Willing?

Often enough when things start to not work for us it comes down to handful of things that we are doing or not doing that have led us to a place we don’t like or to results that are subpar. Are you willing?

It is likely that when progress has stopped or slowed down our attention has been placed in the obstacle, circumstance, or erroneous information gained from our five senses. It is a science and a law that where our attention goes everything else follows suit and transform to be of a like kind. It may take weeks and months before we realize what has happened; nevertheless, we always have time to regain control of our results by asking ourselves, Am I willing?

We must be willing to lay down the complaints, the environmental feedback that has led to retraction of success and development of self, we must be willing to open our mind’s eye to the possibilities rather than pointlessly pursuing our problems. Listen to this audio for some insight.

Are Posture and Self-Esteem Linked?

A study conducted among 74 participants deducted interested yet logical findings correlated positive mindset and posture placement. This study correlates to the first two pillars that are used here at IN FORM LIFE FITNESS which are movement and mindset. In this study participants were divided into two groups. One group had an upright posture (their backs were strapped with physiotherapy during the study to maintain posture); while the other group had a slumped posture.

“Upright participants reported higher self-esteem, more arousal, better mood, and lower fear, compared to slumped participants. Linguistic analysis showed slumped participants used more negative emotion words, first-person singular pronouns, affective process words, sadness words, and fewer positive emotion words and total words during the speech. Upright participants had higher pulse pressure during and after the stressor.”

In the end, the results of the study demonstrated that when under stress, maintaining an upright posture will help with higher self-esteem, increase mood, reduce the usage of negative words, and builds resilience. We cannot over emphasize that health is mostly composed of the we do outside of a gym. In this case, maintaining an upright posture can trigger positive mental and emotional responses.
One thought is always followed by another of the same kind and whatever the predominant thought is in the mind that is what we will attract. This means that by standing and sitting tall the mind and body will reap great benefits.

Are You A Complainer?

We all know at least one person that loves to complain. Even if they won the lottery, they would complain about the taxes that have to be paid. Is that you, are you a complainer or are you a praiser?

Our mind is like a magnet and our thoughts are like the energy that charges the magnet; so, what will we attract if what comes out of our mouths is a complaining? Since like attracts like, we will be magnetized to the things that will give a reason to complain about. Fortunately, there are two sides to every coin, and the other side of complaining is praising. Watch this video and then really take some time to examine if you more often praise or complain.

As a Man Thinketh

We are what we think! Our thoughts, no matter how obscure they may be, will manifest in the physical form though our actions and results. James Allen's "As a Man Thinketh" is a great book to read and re-read. Download the eBook now to read whenever and wherever convenient to you.

Be Bold

As toddlers we are fearless, we take risks, we stop at nothing. As we start growing and developing awareness we begin to shy away from taking risks. Many of us take the safe way through life in order to just make it to retirement and then die. This is NOT what we were created to live like. We were created to be bold, to be movers and shakers, and risk-takers. It's time to shake things up and be bold!

Be a Student

I love the quote from Bob Proctor that says, “change is inevitable but personal growth is a choice”

Every single second there are changes happening from molecular levels to enormous things like planes in constant motion in the air. We can’t run from change and those of us who try to resist change get left behind like obsolete machines.

Another one of my favorite quotes, this one from Eric Hoffer that’s says,
“In a world of change, the learners shall inherit the earth, while the learned shall find themselves perfectly suited for a world that no longer exists.”

Both quotes have a simple message, never stop being a student. Never stop increasing and updating your knowledge professionally, spiritually, emotionally, just make it a point to learn something new every day. It will keep you relevant, connected, and in forward motion to becoming a better version of you each day. If we all become just one percent better each month or even each year, just imagine what our lives can look 2-3 years from now.

Calmness of Mind

Calmness of mind is essential for experiencing life to the fullest in health, work, and all other daily demands. Tension and fret cause more of the of the things we do not desire. Listen to this audio message from Bob Proctor for a guided meditation session and experience relaxation.

Check Your Attitude

It is imperative to continue sharpening your intellectual factor and mindset conditioning. The answers to all our questions and needs are within us. Watch this week’s MindFlex Minute series to hear about reflection, reassessment, recommitting to repetition, realignment, and reaching with risk.

Crap Board

Vision Boards are popular and used by many people to display the things they want in their lives. Many place things like pictures of homes, cars, destinations, and other goals as inspiration and reminders on Vision Boards. Vision Boards are a great tool to use and always encouraged but have you should also have a Crap Board.

What is a Crap Board?

In a Vision Board we take the dreams and desires we have in our mind and put them on paper; so why should the negative things stay inside? Well, they shouldn’t! A Crap Board stands for any Conflict we may have, any Resistance we may be putting up, any Anxiety we may be feeling, and any Problems we may be experiencing. The fact is that those things are in all of us to some degree, but they should not remain in us. By taking a piece of paper and dividing it into four sections we can then take the things that bring us down and let them out. This gives us a better understanding of each factor.

Conflict: Write down any conflict you may be having with anyone or anything that diminishes your joy or fulfillment.

Resistance: Write down anything you may be resisting such as making phone calls everyday to prospective clients or maybe it’s resistance about seeing a professional about a health concern.

Anxiety: Write down anything that you’re feeling anxious about. Are you anxious about not having enough money to pay the mortgage or anxious about something else you’re waiting for?

Problems: Write down any actual or perceived problems that you may be facing.

The key here is not to focus on the things on the board, but to instead to take them out of your head so that you can find a solution to them. When you see that the issues are on the paper and not in you, answers will come!

Creating Confidence

You can spot confidence a mile away, in the way you walk, talk, and carry yourself, but sometimes, no matter how old we are, we all need a boost of it.

Let’s make this week, confidence week. Confidence is like an internal assurance in who we are and therefore that what we do will be successful. I’m not talking about being arrogant, just confident. Confidence comes with a calm and clear mind which enables us to be better versions of ourselves.

So today’s internal focus point number 1. Delight yourself in who you are. You were created perfectly imperfect and there’s only one of you in the world. There is no need to compare yourself to anyone else. When we compare, we either end up feeling bad about ourselves or we do it to put someone else down and both cases are no good. So, shine bright in who you are! External Focus Point Number one, walk with your shoulder back and head high. Posture counts, confident people don’t walk around looking defeated. It has proven by science how your posture affects our mood and confidence.

So today, be proud of being perfectly imperfectly and walk like a model down a run way everywhere you go. Show up with and show off your confidence!
